We ended up doing mostly measuring today to find out where are squares were on the grid of the excavation site and to mark off the two meter squares/20 centimeter balk.
. . . well, we dug a little to clear off the grass and stuff on top.
. . . and I'm still tired. I'll sleep long and well this weekend, it seems D: |

Do not want to be up (and I went to bed at 8 and slept through X___x). Yesterday was preliminary stuff, today we actually get to start digging in the dirt for artifacts.
Is it bad that I'm wondering why I didn't take the option to just keep all of my summer break for snoozing? |

Sister's graduation was today. That was fairly standard . . . got through a lot of The Book of Thoth by Crowley while the boring stuff went on.
Also bought a smaller brush from Junky Spot . . . because the one I'm working with, while it works for SD and even MSD lashes just cannot make lines small enough for Mikoto's lashes (although I will freely admit that probably lies more with my skill than the size of the brush, still I'm going to try a smaller one). I've also made it more priority to practice brush strokes, along with that I want to experiment with different parts combinations of paint and acrylic medium--because that is tripping me up too. I think I definitely need to go get black fluid acrylic, since I can't find the bottle I had. The liquitex paint (which is much thicker) just doesn't compare in terms of mixing with the medium (and was part of my problem with making good tiny size eyelashes, but still, the majority of the problem is that I was just never meant to be a painter lol--must practice the stroke technique!). |

I seem to have lost Mikoto's glasses again :( They're really flimsy, so it's easy for them to slip out of his wig (which is what holds them on, thank god he has an elastic wig that fits snugly) and get lost places.
*sigh* I really need to figure out a way to make a more durable pair for him anyway, but this sucks :( He's so cute with his "Harry-Potter-esque" glasses :( :( :(

ImageReady sucks as an animator. I'll be looking for another program (probably the Jasac program on the other computer) to do the final animation . . . one that lets me have more control over speed and the optimization progress. |

No luck so far trading the oldskin body for a minimee one. But that's okay, cause I'm considering keeping it for Reznik now anyway (I love volks bodies *_*). I could probably sell the Bobobie one easier anyway, and lose less money on it. Cause with all the SD13 bodies going up now I'm sure I'd have to sell low to outright sell it *sigh*. That fixes my bobble-head issues with Reznik anyway (even if his pants won't be awesomely baggy anymore :(--that's okay too, cause I recently found a company that makes really baggy pants, so if I decide he needs them baggy I have options!) XD; And the soom head isn't a horrible match with it either.
So now I just have to save up the money to buy Yasuo a body >(
Then maybe I can trade the free head that it comes with for something, assuming DiM is still offering a free head with the minimee body by the time I can buy one. I certainly have no use for it, and I've already got an experimental mod head. (I also don't want to flat out sell it since they specifically say: "Please note that the event head is not an item to be sold separately as a commercial item." But it's a pretty head and I do figure it should go to someone who actually wants it . . . ).
Now I just have to get to saving. If I resist the urge to buy a paid LJ account, the $40 I've got can go into that fund. (Technically I have closer to $80 with what I've already got sitting in my bank account, but I want to leave a little extra there.) |

Going to bed soon. But I did get some of the Satoru dance chibi done. Man, it's work X__x 15 frames, though, I knew it'd be lengthy.
(I'm inking the frames now, then I'll fix details that don't work fluidly [like his scars might jump, but it seems so far it's just gonna be his eye that causes problems], then CG)

So . . . for the hell of it I traced the frames of one of those Caramelldansen chibis . . . .
. . . and now I'm taking Satoru (the least likely of all of my characters to actually do it) and making an animation of him doing the dance XD;;;;;;;; |

Wow. . . I just blew most of the approx. $140 I got from selling back my books today T_T;; $24 of it went to buy pastels (and a new micron pen) for doll faceups, and $65-ish is going to buy new wigs for Satoru and Yasuo who need them.
But . . . but . . . I've still got $40 that is untouched.

Impulse tiny arrived ♥ (so cute ;__;)
Now she just needs her wig to come . . . and a name . . . oh, and I have to do a gender switching sanding tomorrow >) Shouldn't be too hard for such a wee little thing.
(Read: She is a boy must make into a girl)
Um, any name suggestions? She's gonna be a fluffy, frilly girly girl . . . if that helps. The only thing I can think of so far is "Candy Floss" . . . but I don't really wanna use that lol. |

Mmm, I just realized that I can totally just stick characters into Yukio's storyline with no real difficulty at all . . . gah, this does not bode well for future doll impulse buying.
. . . or really for the fact that I still have a secret lust for Ricky's Fahren mold. . . . maybe I should keep the oldskin body around once I trade it out for Yasuo -___-;;;;
Edit: Not to mention there's already a glaring hole open for a 60cm girl since Reznik has a female roommate -_-; |

I'm slowly building up people's phone numbers now that I got my replacement cell phone (so if I knew yours and you want me to have it again . . . uh, send it to me somehow, maybe LJ messenger thinger?)
Or you know, if you just want me to know your number for some reason ._o
The impulse tiny should arrive within the next week, since it was sent expedited (this is from info on the Canada post website), but we'll see what happens. It's coming from Ontario, so that's not too great a distance (for those lacking in Canadian geography, Ontario is the providence right above the state I live in, though I suppose whether or not the seller lives on the Ohio side, or more towards the western side of Michigan side of Ontario could affect things).
And one of my teachers wants me to revise my bs paper on magic to actually give as a presentation at a conference. Like you know, one of those ones that people who actually work in the field go to ._o This could be very advantageous both in terms of resumé material and the fact that if I ever *did* study in anthropology it would certainly be related to religion and magic.
It's just that I don't know if I really have time to work on it, as I'm going right into a field class. I told him I'd think about it over the weekend *sigh*. I guess in between working on studying/writing finals material I'll glance at it and see what work it would need to overhaul it.
He doesn't think it'd need much, but I'm apparently more picky than him and I know it would need a complete re-write. If for no other reason than to clarify the focus of it a bit more. I think the part he's most interested in is actually a sort of offshoot that developed as I was writing, and I'd like to explore some of the other ideas more deeply as well if I'm going to do something so serious with the paper. I'd probably like to dig up some more sources to read and reference, or if nothing else read Malinowski more closely. |

I will be dead by next Wednesday. Finals + essays are going to kill me ded. *beats head on keyboard*
(Lucky for me I've got decent grades, so when I burn out right before finals and possibly bomb them I'll still come up on top.)
10 page essay to finish by friday, three take-home essays for finals, five finals to study for (most of which require me to do some reading), a psychiatrist appointment that is going to be less than pleasant and actually has me worried . . . (and is smack dab in the middle of my finals) . . . . My next week is looking to be exhausting.
On an up note, my impulse-buy tiny abjd is in the mail and on its way :D |

I still need to go through and fix some minor things (mainly color bleeding over where it should not), and I'm not 100% sure I'm gonna leave the text there, though it's funny XD;
But, this is basically what your commission will look like finished, onnawufei. Cause most of the detail-y stuff I'm gonna fix still you won't notice unless you really look close.
Um, took extreme liberty with the bracelets since I couldn't see them well. If you don't like how I did anything let me know, I can still fix it easily XD;;;;
I'm probably gonna go back in and add more depth to his hair . . . and may change how some other things are rendered when it's not 1am and I have a different perspective on things XD;;;

Woot. Finished my paper. My god, I wish for the days when I could whip out a paper in an hour--not four or five.
. . . I'm just too easily distracted now :( Considering the distractions I've given into I actually think I did pretty well.
(And also considering I had no idea what to write and was basically just bsing.)
. . . blah. The topics were only hard because I'm outside the "norm" for the culture I live in, in reference to religion and so to write about something different than my own requires me to write about the average . . . . So I couldn't do the easy topic (writing about the concept of a soul in a religion other than your own--ironically if I did write about my own I probably would have made a paper the teacher would have found fascinating and loved, but alas . . . ).
Instead I write about magic in the real world, so to speak. How people I know use magic every day, and how I do.
. . . again I sort of had that bridge of me being a bit out of the range of average. Considering, you know, I read tarot cards and rune stones, and ward my room against the spirits that like to move in and out of our house ._o; |
